Preservation planning is a process that can include the following: (1) when an area should be surveyed for historic properties; (2) whether historic properties are significant; and, (3) what the appropriate treatment is for an identified property. Laura has surveyed numerous areas to identify historic properties and assess their significance. She has years of inspecting old buildings, determining what materials constitute their structure, and what historic construction technologies and techniques were utilized.
